Statement of Rep. Bobby Scott on Virginia Tech Shootings

"We were saddened to hear of the tragic events on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University today. We will certainly want to explore every possible avenue toward determining what can be done to prevent this kind of tragedy in the future, whether on our college campuses or on business premises such as we saw last week.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families, as well as to the entire Virginia Tech community."

Congressman Scott is Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, and is a member of the House Committee on Education and Labor.
