	REP. SCOTT SUPPORTS SURRY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
	WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Robert C. ”Bobby” Scott, (D-VA-3), supports the resolution of the Surry County Board of Supervisors and opposes the proposed use of a site in Surry County for a potential outlying landing field for Oceana’s fighter jets. While Congressman Scott recognizes the need for an outlying landing field for Oceana, the resolution articulates compelling reasons to not site the landing field in Surry County. The resolution cites citizen opposition, noise disruptions, loss of tax revenues and proximity to schools as strong reasons not to site the landing field in Surry County. “I will continue to work with the Navy and the Governor to find a suitable site for the outlying landing field,” said Mr. Scott.
