Rep. Nadler Announces Projects in Omnibus Funding Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-08), announced the inclusion of key projects for Manhattan and Brooklyn in the Omnibus Appropriations Bill that was passed by the House on Monday.  The spending bill must still be reconciled with the Senate before heading to the President for his signature.

“All of these projects will serve the people of New York City,” said Rep. Nadler.  “I am proud that Congress saw fit to support these worthy projects.  I urge the President to end his call to attach to this measure any unrelated funding for the War in Iraq.”

Specifically, the bill includes:

$243,000 for the Warbasse Community Services Project in the Coney Island area of Brooklyn
$380,000 for the Roosevelt Hospital
$390,000 for Jazz at Lincoln Center
$446,500 for the Coalition for the Homeless
$564,000 for the Doe Fund
$305,500 for the John Jay Center for Study of Gang Violence
$178,600 for the John Jay-Regenhard Center for Emergency Response
$231,000 for the Brooklyn-based Sephardic Angel Fund
$8,877,000 for the Coney Island Area Shore Protection Project
$500,000 for the New York Industrial Retention Network
$2,000,000 for the New School’s Green Building
$150,000 for the Hudson Guild Fulton Center
$225,000 for the Staten Island Passenger Rail Study
$171,235,000 for Phase 1 of the Second Avenue Subway Line
$500,000 for the Lincoln Center Corridor Redevelopment Project - Pedestrian Footbridge

However, in order to reduce the overall cost of the bill, all of the projects, including those listed above, are subject to a 1.747 percent reduction.
