With postcard to DHS Secretary, Nadler joins Clinton and King in re-publicizing New York’s newly obscure national icons
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerrold Nadler today reminded Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff that, contrary to DHS’s recent findings, New York City does indeed feature many “national icons.” Congressman Nadler sent a postcard of the Empire State Building to Chertoff as part of a campaign by Senator Hillary Clinton and Congressman Peter King to protest Chertoff’s outrageous underfunding of New York’s antiterrorism needs.
Congressman Nadler’s district alone includes such terror targets as the World Trade Center site, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Penn Station, and Times Square.
Nadler’s postcard reads:
Dear Secretary Chertoff,
Did you know that more than 15,000 people work in the Empire State Building, and as many as 10,000 to 20,000 more visit every day to take in the breathtaking views from the 86th floor observatory?
Wish you were here!
Jerry Nadler
