(Washington, DC) - Congressman Wally Herger today reminded eligible and interested individuals in the Second Congressional District that the deadline for completing military academy applications is October 31, 2007.

"Each year I have the honor of recommending young men and women for appointment to the U.S. Military Academies," said Congressman Herger.  "These institutions provide an exceptional experience to train for a career as an officer in our armed forces.  This is a tremendous opportunity for a top-notch education for interested and qualified students in Northern California."

Applications Are Now Being Accepted For 2008 Nominations to the Following Academies:

Interested young men and women between the ages of 17 and 22 who are residents of California’s Second Congressional District and U.S. citizens can apply.  The deadline for completing the application is October 31, 2007.  Interested students should contact Rep.
