WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, Congressman Bill Delahunt, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights, and Oversight will hold a hearing on UN Security Resolution 1325 which recognizes and supports the vital role women play in achieving peace and security across the globe.
This will be the first Congressional hearing to explore women's contributions to peace building and reconstruction in key conflict and post-conflict environments, specifically Afghanistan, Sudan, and Uganda. The hearing will examine the important yet overlooked role that women have performed in building sustainable peace.
