WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Delahunt has announced a regional competition which will showcase the artistic talent and potential of high school students in southeastern Massachusetts.
“I am proud to be a part of a program that fosters the artistic growth of our young people,” said Delahunt. “It demonstrates the emphasis we place on the arts in American society and will showcase the exceptional talent we have here on the South Shore and Cape & Islands.”
Delahunt, together with the Art Complex Museum of Duxbury, has invited all interested high school students throughout the Tenth Congressional District to take part. The winning entry, will be announced at a reception in mid April, and displayed in the US Capitol for a year as part of a national exhibition representing each participating Congressional District in the nation. In addition, the winning artist will be offered a four year renewable scholarship from the Savannah School of Design in Savannah, Georgia that totals $20,000.

Included in the package of materials are contest guidelines and application forms.
Artwork will be accepted in six categories: painting, drawing, print, mixed media, computer graphic and photography. All works must be two-dimensional, unframed, matted or mounted on black or white, and no larger than 30 by 30 inches to outside trim.
