TALLAHASSEE-On Saturday, May 5, 2007, Congressman Allen Boyd (D-North Florida) will host his annual Military Academy Day. High school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are interested in attending one of the U.S. military academies are encouraged to attend. As part of the application process, students are required to have a congressional nomination submitted on their behalf.
The event will give interested students and parents an opportunity to learn more about our nation's military academies, requirements for admission, and the appointment process. The event is free and open to the public.
Congressman Boyd and members of his staff will be joined by representatives from each of the four service academies: U.S. Military Academy (West Point), Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy. Representatives from the ROTC units of Florida State University and Florida A & M University also will be in attendance.
