(October 23, 2008) Huntington Park – Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) congratulates officials with Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) and Human Services Association (HSA) on the grand opening of the newly licensed Rita Preschool in Huntington Park. To help mark the special occasion, the congresswoman presented representatives of both organizations Certificates of Congressional Recognition for their successful efforts to make the opening of the preschool for low-income families a reality. Through LAUP grants, HSA provides 4-year-old children from low-income families a head start in school. In Southeast Los Angeles County, HSA also operates licensed preschools in Bell Gardens and South Gate.
