     Congressman Gene Green (D-Houston) partnered with the Worksource to host the North Channel Job Fair, which was held on Monday, June 7, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Greens Bayou.  The event drew over 342 job seekers and offered access to 21 employer booths and career resources.  The program served to bring together those seeking employment with companies that are looking for good qualified employees.

 

     “The North Channel Job Fair was a great success,” said Green. “By partnering with the Worksource, we were able to help job seekers make direct contact with several companies offering jobs and give them a chance for advancement within their careers.”

 

     Some of the participating companies included Academy Sports and Outdoors, America’s Skilled Personnel, Anna’s Linens, Biomat USA, Inc., Burnett Staffing, CRST, Covenant, Enterprise Rent a Car, Glorious Personal Care, Harris County Departments of Education and Public Health, Home Depot, Jim Adler & Associates, Labor Ready, Link Staffing, Stevens, Swift, Woodforest National Bank, Partners In Power, Inc., and ROC. Available positions included customer service, sales and marketing, medical technicians, clerical, industrial and professional.
