Washington, DC - Congressman Gene Green is pleased to announce that two deserving young people from the 29th Congressional District have received appointments to U. S. Service Academies.
Rubin Ihuit, a 2003 graduate of Sam Rayburn High School, has recently received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the 2004 Fall Semester. Green nominated Ihuit, who graduated from the Air Force Academy Prep School on May 14, 2004.
Christina Lumb, a 2003 graduate of C.E. King High School, has received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for the 2004 Fall Semester. Green nominated Lumb, who recently graduated from the Naval Academy Prep School.
“I was proud to have the opportunity to nominate these two outstanding individuals. It’s an honor for our community to have two of our very own students selected to attend these U.S. Service Academies,” said Green. “As this country fights terrorism, we need our finest to meet the global challenges that our military faces. I am confident Christina and Rubin will continue to make us proud while attending the Academies.”
