Washington, D.C. -- With the support of Congressman Steve Chabot (R-Cincinnati), the House of Representatives approved a resolution (H. Res. 1287) commending the Honor Flight Network for helping World War II veterans travel to the nation’s capital to visit the World War II Memorial created in their honor. Chabot is a cosponsor of the resolution.

“There is no better way to show our appreciation and gratitude to the men and women who served this nation during World War II,” said Congressman Chabot. “For many of our nation’s veterans, it’s their only chance of ever seeing the memorial. The experience is a fitting tribute.”

Honor Flight is a national network of local non-profit organizations dedicated to flying our nation’s heroes to Washington, DC to personally visit the World War II Memorial on the National Mall. Cincinnati’s local chapter, Honor Flight Tri-State, has flown numerous missions for veterans from the Cincinnati-area to Washington. Congressman Chabot has had the opportunity to meet with several of the veterans participating in the Honor Flight Tri-State program while they were at the World War II Memorial.
