Davis Statement On Stimulus Plan May 09, 2003

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis (TN-4) released the following statement on the passage of the Republican Stimulus Plan:

"The debt tax consumed 18% of all taxes collected by the federal government last year. I am not opposed to tax cuts. I object to tax cuts that are financed with borrowed money and will increase taxes on our children and grandchildren."

"What we need is an economic stimulus plan that would deliver targeted and fiscally responsible tax cuts, create jobs, stimulate the economy, and help the states with their budget deficits."
