MYRICK ANNOUNCES CHARLOTTE VA CLINIC LEASE AWARD

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Representative Sue Myrick (NC-9) announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded a lease to construct a new VA Clinic in Charlotte.  The date of completion for this new clinic is scheduled for April 1, 2007.

“I’m extremely happy the VA has awarded this lease so we can move on to the next step of construction.  Our veterans can now look forward to a new clinic five times bigger than the one they have now so they will receive a higher level of medial services at a higher quality of care,” said Rep. Myrick.

This lease award will allow for the construction of a new primary care clinic that will serve veterans in and around the Charlotte area.  This new facility will replace an existing 10,000 net useable square foot facility currently serving veterans that is too small and does not meet the needs of the area’s veteran population.

The site for this new clinic will be in the University East Business Park on W. T. Harris Boulevard and University East Drive.  Construction can begin 90 days from today.
