MYRICK WINS FRC’S “TRUE BLUE” AWARD FOR CONSISTENT SUPPORT OF FAMILY

 

(Washington, D.C.) – Representative Sue Myrick (R-NC) has been recognized as a “True Blue” Member of Congress by the Family Research Council (FRC) for her unwavering commitment to the family.   

The award honors members of the House and Senate who have exhibited extraordinary leadership and commitment to the defense of family, faith, and freedom according to FRC’s new scorecard covering House and Senate votes during the 2nd session of the 108th Congress.

Recipients of the award voted for pro-life and pro-family issues on a variety of occasions. 
Rep. Myrick received a 100% on the FRC scorecard.  The votes scored included:

ü      Protection of freedom of conscience for faith-based organizations

ü      Unborn Victims of Violence Act

ü      Increase in Penalties for Broadcast Indecency Violations

ü      Permanent Removal of the Marriage Tax Penalty

ü      Abortions on military bases

ü      Rejection of legalized prostitution

ü      Protection of “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance

ü      Punishing certain thoughts as criminal – “Hate Crimes”

ü      Confirmation Vote for Pro-life Judge

ü      Removing the ability of Federal Courts to rule on DOMA

ü      Support of Amendment Defining Marriage – Marriage Protection Amendment

ü      Sponsorship of Marriage Protection Amendment
