(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Sue Myrick today announced that a $36,000 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant has been awarded to Gastonia’s Highland Family Resource Center, Inc. The grant money was awarded under HUD’s Housing Counseling Program Awards for Housing Counseling Agencies around the country.
The Housing Counseling Program is intended to provide housing counseling for one year to homebuyers, homeowners, and renters. A total of $37.56 million is awarded by HUD nationwide to 440 organizations. The award received was competitive and funded under the Fiscal Year 2003 HUD Appropriations Act.
