MYRICK ANNOUNCES FIRE PREVENTION GRANT FOR DALLAS VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
 
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick (NC-9) today announced that Dallas Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a $4,950 grant from the Department of Homeland Security under the Assistance for Firefighters Grant Program.  The funding will be used to address fire prevention and safety issues with a focus toward the high-risk target groups of children, seniors, and firefighters. 
 
  The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP) awards one-year grants directly to fire departments to support the nation's firefighters and the services they deliver.  The Department of Homeland Security’s Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) administers the program, in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
