MYRICK ANNOUNCES HER APPOINTMENT TO THE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND COMMERCE

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representative Sue Myrick (NC-9) announced that she has been selected to serve on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.  Representative Myrick will take an immediate leave of absence from the Committee and continue to serve on the House Committee on Rules.

“A seat on the Energy and Commerce Committee will give me an opportunity to better serve my district and North Carolina in the areas of energy, health, and telecommunications,” said Myrick.  “It is a great honor to be a member of a committee that is responsible for sending important legislation to the House Floor that impacts all Americans.”

“Sue is a strong leader with a remarkable knowledge of the issues.  I know that she will do a great job on this Committee, and I look forward to working with her in this new capacity,” said Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.

“Sue Myrick is a dedicated leader who cares deeply for her constituents and her state.  I’m very honored to have such a leader join the Committee, and her experience and insight will be invaluable,” said Energy and Commerce Chairman Billy Tauzin.
