MYRICK LOOKING FOR D-DAY VETERANS

(Washington, D.C.) – Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) will be holding a special medal ceremony on June 6, 2005, the 61st Anniversary of D-Day, to honor D-Day veterans.  At the ceremony, Rep. Myrick will be presenting the Normandy Service Medal, also called the Jubilee of Liberty, to veterans and surviving family members.
 
 Rep. Myrick has secured a limited number of these medals and is asking all D-Day veterans, who have not received this special medal, to contact her office so that they can be properly honored for their service. If you are a veteran who served in Normandy during the summer of 1944, or are a friend or a family member of a D-Day veteran, please call Rep. Myrick’s staffers, Robert Becker or Sandy Sigurdson, at (704) 861-1976.  Information will be given on how to participate and receive these medals.

 Veterans need to contact Rep. Myrick’s office by May 17th in order to be able to participate in this special ceremony.
