Myrick Announces Grant For City of Belmont Fire Department
 
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick (NC-9) today announced that the City of Belmont Fire Department has been awarded a $300,200 grant from the Department of Homeland Security under the Assistance for Firefighters Grant Program. 
 
The grant was awarded under the Vehicle Acquisition Program. Belmont can use this grant for pumpers, brush trucks, tankers/tenders, rescue vehicles, ambulances, quints, aerials, or foam units.
 
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awards one-year grants directly to fire departments to support the nation's firefighters and the services they deliver. The grant program is administered by the Department's Office for State and Local Government Coordination & Preparedness in cooperation with the Department's United States Fire Administration.
