MYRICK ANNOUNCES GRANT FOR LOWELL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, INC.
 
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick (NC-9) today announced that Lowell Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. has been awarded a $85,500 grant from the Department of Homeland Security under the Assistance for Firefighters Grant Program.  The funding will be used for vehicle acquisition.
 
  The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awards one-year grants directly to fire departments to support the nation's firefighters and the services they deliver.  The grant program is administered by the Department's Office for State and Local Government Coordination & Preparedness in cooperation with the Department's United States Fire Administration.
