Abraham Lincoln National Airport Commission

Abraham Lincoln National Airport terminalChicago is the crossroads of the nation. It can retain its status as the nation’s — and the world’s — preeminent aviation hub by constructing a new airport in the south suburbs. As proposed, the Abraham Lincoln National Airport is designed to bring regional balance — both in aviation capacity and economic opportunity — to the Greater Chicago area.

To be built through a public-private partnership, Lincoln National Airport brings together the best of both worlds — private financing and efficiencies, with public governance and accountability. Using only private dollars and posing no cost or risk to taxpayers, Lincoln National Airport is the quickest, cheapest, safest and cleanest way to expand aviation capacity in the State.

The development partners, LCOR/SNC-Lavalin Joint Venture, have successfully built airports around the world under this model. They, along with the local Abraham Lincoln National Airport Commission, have designed the first airport in the US specifically "priced" to attract low-cost carriers. For the Southland, the Lincoln Airport creates tens of thousands of new jobs, builds a stronger tax base, and provides sound economic development for a generation and beyond. Just as important, Lincoln National Airport starts small and is designed to complement existing airports, not jeopardize or threaten their viability.
