JOINT ARMY-AIR FORCE PROJECT - Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base teamed up to build a large ammunition supply point (ASP). Ten huge ammunition igloos were completed in 2002. Built on Fort Dix by the Army, the igloos already jointly house Air Force and Army munitions. McGuire gets the added benefit of storing ordinance much farther away from aircraft, jet fuel and related facilities than it had previously. Three more igloos are planned by the Air Force. Here, Congressman Saxton tours the igloos after they were made operational.
