LAKEHURST NAVAL AIR ENGINEERING STATION - in Ocean County, NJ provides the nation's only aircraft carrier launching and arresting gear R&D, testing and repairs. The 7,500-acre base employs 3,000, and provides support to the National Guard and the U.S. Dept. of Justice.

FORT DIX - More than 15,000 Reserve soldiers train on post at a single time. The 31,000-acre post is surrounded by hundreds of thousands of additional acres in state & federal forests and farmland. More than 3,300 work on post, which has mobilized more Reserve troops than any base in the country. McGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE - One of the largest Air Force bases on the East Coast, McGuire is home to more than 60 tankers and airlifters, and over 8,000 personnel. The 3,700-acre base operates with Reserve, Air Guard and active duty airmen. More than $100 million in new construction is underway.
