Internship Opportunities

Congressman Duncan Hunter is currently welcoming applications for student internship positions in his Washington, DC office.  Legislative interns are asked to commit to a full-time, unpaid, three-month internship.  Preference is given to students from San Diego or Imperial Counties, however, this is not a requirement.

Interns will be provided the opportunity to observe and participate firsthand in the legislative process.  Other responsibilities include guiding Capitol tours, answering telephones, sorting and distributing mail, and other miscellaneous clerical duties.  In the course of their internship, interns will work closely with Congressman Hunter's legislative staff as they handle bills that are being debated before the House of Representatives.  Interns also assist in drafting constituent correspondence in addition to handling oral and written constituent casework.
