U.S. Service Academy Nominations

Members of Congress have the privilege of recommending a select group of individuals for admission to the United States service academies:  Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine.  The limited number of available appointments are highly competitive.  Applicants must be residents of California's 52nd Congressional District and between the ages of 17 and 22.

The United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, offers appointments solely on the basis of an annual nationwide competition.  There are no Congressional appointments or geographical quotas involved.  All applicants must apply directly to the U.S. Coast Guard Office at:
