Renzi Announces $5.5 Million in Federal Funding for Navajo Nation
Grant will provide funding for community development activities

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Rick Renzi (AZ-1) announced today that the Navajo Nation will be receiving $5.5 million in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

"I am pleased to announce this multi-million dollar grant for the Navajo Nation,"said Congressman Renzi. "This grant will provide the resources needed to support the development of more affordable housing and infrastructure improvements."

The Navajo Nation will receive the funding through the Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Program. The funds may be used for a variety of housing activities such as operating assistance, development of affordable housing, and housing management for low-income housing. Additionally, funds through this program may be used for housing rehabilitation and infrastructure construction on roads or water and sewer facilities.

ICDBG is a competitive grant program administered by HUD and committed to providing community assistance to Native American Tribes and Alaskan Native Villages.
