About the 2nd District

Washington State’s Second Congressional District runs north from Mukilteo/South Everett to the Canadian border, and east up the Highway 2 corridor into the Cascades. It encompasses both thriving urban areas, rolling farmlands, and beautiful coastlines.

Second District Counties

The five counties of the Second District are Snohomish, Skagit, Island, San Juan, and Whatcom. The environmental diversity of the area makes it a recreational and sporting paradise, perfect for hiking, boating, fishing, bird watching, camping or hunting.

Military and Aerospace

Everett and Whidbey Island are home to Naval bases, both of which provide state-of-the-art technology in defense of our nation. Boeing is also part of the Second District, with the largest aerospace facility in the world. Thousands of visitors tour the Boeing facility in Everett every year.

Education

The 2nd Congressional District is also fortunate to be home to several institutions of higher education. From one of state's best universities to highly accredited community colleges, we are privileged to have these schools in our community. They allow our residents to get high quality education and training. Please visit my District Links page on this website for a complete list of these schools.Technology and Farming

The Second District is also home to cutting-edge biotech and hi-tech companies. These companies are working to improve the quality of life for all of us.The family farm plays a large role in the Second District. Farmers here produce everything from raspberries to dairy products, making agriculture one of the area’s largest economic contributors. Farms are increasingly using the technology of the region to develop more efficient delivery of their goods.

It’s All Here

From thriving cities to small communities, from Navy jets to Boeing passenger planes, from farmland to technology, from wild wilderness to urban areas, the Second District encompasses all aspects of life. I am honored and privileged to represent such a vital and diverse area.
