Information on the Presidential Inauguration

The 56th Presidential Inauguration will take place in Washington, DC on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

Tickets for the inauguration will be available through Congressional offices only. No tickets will be distributed directly to the public.

Over the past few weeks my office has received hundreds of requests for inauguration tickets. Each Member of Congress will receive a limited number of tickets to distribute to constituents. I regret that I will not be able to accommodate every request.

If you are a resident of the 2nd Congressional District and would like to request inauguration tickets please fill out the e-mail form on my contact page by 5:00 PM PST on Wednesday, November 26th. Please include your full name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, and number of tickets requested. Residents of Washington’s 2nd Congressional District who submit a request will be eligible to participate in a ticket lottery.  Each party will be eligible for two tickets maximum. We are only able to accept requests from residents of the 2nd Congressional District.

Please note that tickets to the inauguration are free. While many websites and ticket vendors may claim to have inauguration tickets, constituents should be wary of these offers.

Information regarding additional inauguration events can be found at: http://inaugural.senate.gov/.
