Constituent Services - Scouting Resources

One of the required merit badges for young men participating in the Boy Scouts is the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge.  My office and I can be of assistance to Boy Scouts seeking to meet the various requirements of this badge.

The second requirement gives scouts the option to visit their State or National Capitol building.  If you are able to make the trip to Washington D.C. my staff can conduct a tour of the US Capitol building and help you answer the required questions about the history and significance of the building.   It also has the option to visit a federal facility or a National Monument.  My staff in Staten Island or Brooklyn can help arrange local visits, just give them a call, or my Washington D.C. office can help with visits to facilities or monuments in Washington D.C. or places like the U.S. Mint facilities in Philadelphia or Denver.  Fill out the tour request form or call the Washington D.C. Office for more information.

The final requirement for the Merit Badge is to name your Member of the House of Representatives and both United States Senators for your state and send a letter on a matter of national significance to one of them.  If you live in the 13th Congressional District of New York, I am your Representative in the House and your two Senators are currently Senator Charles Schumer and Senator Hillary Clinton.  If you don't live in my district visit the House website to find who your Representative is.  I encourage you to send your letter to me at one of my offices and to continue to stay in touch with me to let me know your feelings on any federal issue of importance to you.
