WHAT ARE CONGRESSIONAL PAGES?
Congressional pages are high school students who live and attend school in Washington, D.C. while working in either the House of Representatives of the Senate. Positions are available for the semester, year or summer. Pages play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of Congress by calling members to votes, acting as couriers, facilitating constituent services and performing other duties as needed. Selection for the Page Program is highly competitive, and only high school sophomores and juniors may apply. Only juniors may apply for the non-academic summer program.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. At least 16 years of age prior to the start of the program.
2. A citizen of the United States.
3. Completed 10th grade but not started the 12th grade.
4. Reside in nominating Member of Congress’s congressional district.
5. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4 point scale for the Fall and Spring programs.
Summer session programs do not have GPA requirements.

NOMINATION PROCESS:
1. Student nominees are selected through a competitive application process.
2. Once nominated, the students will then receive a second packet of forms (medical, banking, etc) directly from the Page Program.
3. The student must pay for his/her own travel to and from Washington, D.C.
4. Students are paid a stipend for their work; after taxes, meals and dorm room fees, they take home around $800/month.
