SANTA BARBARA, CA – Congresswoman Lois Capps (CA-23) released the following statement regarding efforts to fight and recover from the Tea fire:

"For the second time this year a devastating fire has struck our community and our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors who were injured or who lost property in the fire.  Once again, our fire fighters and emergency personnel have served the public admirably, risking their lives to fight the Tea fire and protect lives and property.  I have been impressed by our local, state, and federal officials' rapid and effective response to the threat posed by the Tea fire and I look forward to continuing to work closely with the appropriate parties as we shift our efforts from extinguishing the fire to recovering from its devastation.  When I return to Washington, D.C. tomorrow I will be exploring all avenues to provide additional federal resources to help with the cost of fighting the Tea fire and repairing the damage it has inflicted on our community."
