Academy Nominations

Thank you for contacting me regarding your interest in competing for a nomination to a United States Service Academy. As your Representative, I consider it a great honor to help prospective students enter our prestigious service academies.

Members of Congress may nominate applicants who meet the eligibility requirements established by law to the following academies:

• United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado
• United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York
• United States Military Academy in West Point, New York
• United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland

Our office has formed a Ninth District Service Academy Selection Committee composed of former military personnel and other leading citizens from across Southwest Houston and Ft. Bend County. This committee is charged with evaluating each application and forwarding final recommendations to my office.

To initiate the application process, please complete the following forms below to apply with my office. Applications and required materials are due to my office on October 30th of the year preceding admission.

In addition to requesting a congressional nomination, you must also apply directly with the academy in which you are interested. In addition, I encourage you to seek a nomination from Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn, and from Vice President Cheney as competition for nomination is great.
