Upton Comments on Death of Rep. Paul Todd
Todd, elected in 1964, represented Kalamazoo in the 89th Congress

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) made the following statement on the passing of former Rep. Paul Todd. Todd, born in Kalamazoo in 1921, served one term in the U.S. House of Representatives from January 1965 to January 1967.

“I was very sad to learn the news about my friend, Paul Todd. Despite our political differences, we had a solid friendship over the years that was built on the many issues where we agreed. Paul was a friend who I counted on for advice and always appreciated his humor.

“Paul leaves an enduring legacy in our community - his spice company and its many employees is one that is heralded around the globe. Kalamazoo was always proud of their local guy and his work, and he never let us down.

“I will ask the full House to observe a moment of silence in Paul’s honor when we reconvene next. Paul Todd was indeed an honorable gentleman from the great State of Michigan, and we will all miss him.”
