Mica Continues to Push for Putnam VA Clinic

U.S. Rep. John L. Mica (FL-7), today, reiterated his strong support for the building of a Veterans Administration (VA) community based outpatient clinic in Putnam County.

“On this Veterans Day, my thoughts and prayers are with all those who have valiantly served our nation in the U.S. Armed Services,” Rep. Mica stated.  “Veterans’ health care has been a top priority for me in Congress, and I am pleased that the VA is working to open a much needed Veterans’ clinic in Putnam County.”

While the location is still to be determined, VA officials are hopeful that the new Putnam facility will be operational by Spring of 2009.  Services are expected to include primary care examinations, diagnostic work and disease management.  Additionally, staffing is anticipated to include physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, health technicians, patient assistants and medical administration specialists.

Congressman Mica concluded, “It is a privilege to work with federal, state and local officials to make sure that this important care is available to our Putnam County vets.”
