Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced the award of a $47,638 grant to the Piper City Fire Protection District.
The grant is for operations and safety purposes and is being made through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.
“I’m always happy to be able to help departments like Piper City,” Rep. Johnson said. “These grants have been extremely helpful in getting our first-responders the tools they need to do their very difficult jobs.”
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is part of the Administration’s larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the nation’s overall preparedness for fire and emergency-related disasters.
