Presidential Inauguration
2009 Presidential Inauguration Seal

Thank you for your interest in tickets to the Inauguration Ceremony taking place on January 20, 2009. Due to the unprecedented interest in the historic election of President-elect Barack Obama, my office has received more request for Inaugural tickets than will be available. Currently, we have a 1000 person waiting list for Inaugural tickets (which are for unsheltered outside standing areas) and the chances of obtaining a ticket is extremely limited. In addition, we are only accepting requests from constituents of Wisconsin's Fourth District, if you live elsewhere, please contact your Member of Congress.

If you are still interested in attending the Inauguration Ceremony there is a possibility there may be a standing area for individuals without tickets, however this is not guaranteed. Information on this and other alternative inaugural activity options (such as the parade) can be found at inaugural.senate.gov.

For those individuals who will receive Inaugural tickets, you will be contacted by my office by the end of December. Once again, thank you for your interest in the Inauguration Ceremony and thank you for your cooperation.

Do You, Your Organization or Group Want to Participate in the Parade?

Requests to participate in Inauguration day events for marching bands, marching units, mounted units, and other performers are collected by the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee. The Presidential Inaugural Committee, which has not yet been named as of Nov 12, selects the participants from the collected requests. Further information and an application to participate may be found at the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee.
