Emanuel Applauds Expansion of the Visa Waver Program |
CHICAGO, IL—Today, U.S. Representative Rahm Emanuel (IL-05) issued the following statement in response to the Bush Administration announcing the addition of seven more countries to the US Visa Waiver Program. Next month Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and South Korea will be added to the program. “Modernizing and expanding the Visa Waiver Program will simultaneously strengthen security, manage risk, promote international business and improve our image across the globe, while providing our closest international partners the opportunity to travel to our country. I am committed to working to include more allies, like Poland, in the program.” |
