Converter Box Coupon Program
-Related Press Releases
Consumers can apply for a coupon to
help pay for the purchase of a converter box so that an existing analog
television will be able to receive a digital television signal when the
congressionally mandated switch to DTV occurs next February, 2009. I'm posting something on the web site today
and sending to select media outlets in the Seattle neighborhoods, so in case you get any
calls, here are URLs and telephone numbers for people to use.
(Households can apply for and receive two $40 coupons, each of which can be used to purchase a converter box. It's estimated that a converter box costs
between $50 and $75, so the coupon will significantly lower the cost of
purchase.)
