Presidential Inauguration Ceremony Tickets
As you are likely aware, the Inauguration Ceremony
for President-Elect Obama will take place on
Tuesday, January 20, 2009, outside the U.S. Capitol
Building. Members of the House of Representatives,
U.S. Senators and President-Elect Obama’s
Presidential Inaugural Committee have each received
a limited number of tickets for the Inauguration
Ceremony.
Unfortunately, the number of requests my office has
received far exceeds the number of tickets my office
was allotted. Consequently, I am unable to process
anymore requests. If you have not yet secured
tickets, I encourage you to contact one of
Wisconsin's U.S. Senators (Senator
Herb Kohl or
Senator Russ Feingold) or President-Elect Obama’s
Presidential Inaugural Committee to inquire as to
whether any tickets are available from their
offices.
If you are unable to secure a ticket, non-ticketed
viewing areas around the Presidential parade route
and on the National Mall will be accessible to all
visitors. These areas will be available to the
public and will broadcast the ceremony via large
video screens.
Please note that no website or other ticket outlet
can legally sell or distribute inaugural swearing-in
tickets to sell or distribute, regardless of what
they may claim. Any private website or ticket broker
claiming that they have inaugural tickets is simply
not telling the truth. Tickets for the swearing-in
of President-elect are all provided free of charge
only through members of Congress, and the
President-Elect and Vice President-Elect through the
Presidential Inaugural Committee.
Again, I am sorry that I am unable to honor any more
requests for tickets.Sincerely,
Paul Ryan
