Rep. Bobby Scott Receives Perfect Score from League of Conservation Voters for the 2nd Session of the 110th Congress

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (D-VA-03) received a perfect score of 100 percent on the League of Conservation Voters’ 2008 National Environmental Scorecard that was released today.  The National Environmental Scorecard rates Members of Congress on conservation and energy issues.

For the 2nd Session of the 110th Congress, the League of Conservation voters scored Members of Congress on votes in support of clean energy tax credits, green building standards, public transportation grants, public lands protection, subsidy reform in the Farm Bill, opposition to gutting renewable energy programs, drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and drilling off our nation’s coasts.  Out of 435 members of the House of Representatives, only 67 members received a perfect score of 100 percent.

“I am committed to protecting our environment and working towards ending our nation’s dependence on oil,” said Rep. Scott.  “I am proud that the National Environmental Scorecard reflects this commitment.  I look forward to working with the League of Conservation Voters in the next Congress to address energy independence, climate change, and a host of other important environmental issues.”
