Student Information

There is a wealth of opportunity for students interested in gaining more knowledge about politics and public policy.

Internships
Working in a congressional office can be a very rewarding experience. Congressman Davis offers internships in his Washington and district offices year-round. Applicants should be in good academic standing and have a program associated with the internship (political science, communications, etc.).

To apply for an internship with Congressman Davis, please submit a resume and cover letter stating why you wish to intern and your associated academic program to the Chief of Staff for Washington positions and to the District Director in our Birmingham office for in-district positions.

Service Academies
Receiving an education from one of our nation's five military service academies can be one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences for a young person. Those who complete the program receive a degree as well as the honor of serving as a commissioned officer in our armed forces. Interest in this higher education opportunity demands that students begin the application process as soon as possible. Contact one of our offices to get the ball rolling. For more information on each institution, check out these links.

The Congressional Award
Congress established The Congressional Award in 1979 to recognize initiative, achievement and service in young people. It began as a bipartisan effort in both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives. Through the Congressional Award, the U.S. Congress encourages young Americans to challenge themselves and recognizes young people who set and achieve goals in four program areas: Volunteer Service, Physical Fitness, Personal Development, Expedition/Exploration.
