WASHINGTON - Congressman Davis released the following statement after learning that U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) has been diagnosed with brain cancer:

“I hope that our entire state is praying for Senator Edward Kennedy’s recovery as he faces a health challenge much more daunting than politics.  Senator Kennedy has lived the American dream and he has fought passionately to extend the promise of that dream to all of his fellow citizens.  He has waged these fights with a zest and a decency that honors America, and if his voice is stilled for any reason, for any period of time, our country would be the worse for it.  May God guide him to the recovery he deserves.”
