Congressional Art Competition

I’m pleased to extend the opportunity to participate in the Congressional Art Competition to aspiring young artists throughout the Second Congressional District. This annual competition is held nationwide, with one winner named in each Congressional District. Winning artwork is displayed at an entrance to the U.S. Capitol for one year, and the winning student will be invited to attend the exhibit unveiling ceremony in Washington, DC, to be held this June. I look forward to seeing what wonderful artistic minds we have in Northern California.

Artwork from high school students is accepted in any of the following categories: photography paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, or computer generated art. Please review the complete Competition Guidelines for more detailed information.

Interested students must submit 1) a photograph of your artwork and 2) the completed 2008 Congressional Art Competition Student Release Form to the address below by April 11, 2008. For further information, interested students can contact Leslie Schuessler at (530) 893-8363.
