STARK TO HOLD TOWN MEETINGS ON
AMERICA’S NEW DIRECTION
Saturday, January 20, 2007
WASHINGTON U.S. Representative Pete Stark (D-CA), the recently announced Chairman of the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, plans to speak with residents of the 13th Congressional District at town meetings on Saturday, January 20 in Fremont, San Leandro, and Alameda.
At all three town meetings, Representative Stark will discuss America’s new direction. In the first 100 legislative hours of the 110th Congress, Democrats made good on a promise to help working families by taking important first steps to address the rising costs of health care, gas, and college tuition; provide real security at home and abroad; and restore honesty and civility to the legislative process.
The three town meetings will allow constituents to ask questions about important national issues. Given recent news, likely topics include President Bush’s proposal to escalate the War in Iraq, ongoing efforts to improve the Medicare prescription drug program, and new evidence of global warming.
