With the advent of new technology and the ability to communicate quickly and efficiently, I believe that it is increasingly important to have real-time two-way communication with the opinion leaders in our communities.
I have established a 5th District Congressional Advisory Committee with community leaders throughout the district who offer opinions and suggestions on issues that come up in the Congress. But more importantly, I hear from them on the issues that are important in your community.
Whether they be local, state, or federal, I want my staff to be cognizant of the issues that are affecting the constituents of the district, and be prepared to help whenever they call.
