DELAHUNT SPONSORS GRANT WRITING FORUM NOVEMBER 21
Workshop Designed to Help Municipalities and Non-profits Navigate the Federal Grants Process
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Delahunt announced today that he will sponsor a forum in Buzzards Bay, with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), to help non-profit organizations and municipal officials better understand the complex process of writing a federal grant application.

“Our workshop is designed to demystify the federal funding process, by assisting local municipalities and organizations in putting together a winning application and helping them identify potential funding resources using the latest online resources,” Delahunt said.  “With local organizations facing growing demands for services and fewer resources, every dollar counts.”

The all day workshop on writing federal grants is scheduled to run from 8:30AM to 4:30PM on Friday November 21st at the Harrington Building’s Admiral’s Hall of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy at 101 Academy Drive, Buzzards Bay.

On hand will be representatives from the Congressman’s office and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. The workshop will include personal instruction from key HUD staff on grant proposal writing techniques, how to access federal grant funds, securing a 501c3, and the organizational structure necessary to secure government funds. The program is free but interested participants are asked to register at http://www.hud.gov/event_registration/index_2.cfm?eventID=1298 since space is limited.

For reservations and further details contact Rep. Delahunt’s office toll-free at 1-800-794-9911.
