2009 Inaugural Tickets

The 44th President will be sworn in on January 20th, 2009 on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. Each House and Senate office will receive a limited number of tickets to the Swearing-In Ceremony, many located in the standing areas west of the Capitol Complex on the National Mall.

Important Information

My office has been informed by the Joint Congressional Inaugural Committee that the public should be aware that no website or other ticket outlet actually has inaugural swearing-in tickets to sell, regardless of what they may claim.

Inaugural ticket requests from Representative Dicks must be submitted via an online form (located below). Please submit your request as soon as possible, as inaugural tickets are in very high demand, and each office receives a limited amount of tickets.

*** Please Note: We have already received more requests than we will likely be able to accommodate. Any requests submitted at this time will be placed on a waiting list (November 10, 2008). ***

Please Note:

  • There is a limit of two tickets per household.
  • We can only accept requests from residents of Washington's Sixth District. Friends or relatives outside of the district should contact their representative directly.
  • You will be notified in early January of the status of your request; please hold any follow-up calls or emails until after that time.
  • Tickets cannot be mailed--they must be picked up in person at Congressman Dicks' Washington D.C. office (2467 Rayburn House Office Building) on January 19th, 2009 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Any tickets not collected by 5:00 PM will be offered to the next pending request.
  • Tickets can only be picked up by the individual requesting tickets upon presenting photo ID.

In order to submit your request you will need to have the following information on hand:

  • Your Name
  • E-mail address
  • Address in the 6th District
  • Home telephone number
  • Cell phone number--or contact number while staying in D.C.
  • Name and address of hotel while staying in D.C.

If you have all of the above information prepared you can submit it to Norm's D.C. office using this convenient online form.

Note that the 2009 Inaugural Committee will be responsible for tickets to the Inaugural Parade and Inaugural Balls. Preliminary information is available at http://inaugural.senate.gov/2009/. Any information about upcoming inaugural activities will be posted on this page as it becomes available.

Any questions should be directed to the D.C. office at (202) 225-5916, or by emailing Norm.
