Information for Students
Ray LaHood has a degree in education and spent six years teaching civics and social studies to students in the Peoria area.
On Capitol Hill, Ray participates in a program in which he visits local schools and reads with students.
He understands the importance of education in the lives of all our children. He also knows that teachers can have a tremendous impact on the future success of students. He often says that many of his teachers were his role models when he was young.
From pre-schools to colleges, Ray makes it a priority to visit schools throughout the 18th District. He enjoys discussing issues and promoting public service with the students he meets.
If you would like Ray to visit your school, please contact Ray's nearest office.
