Since I was elected to Congress, it has been my privilege to host several events. Some of them have been once-in-a-lifetime experiences and others went so well we have made them annual occurrences. Below are some of the highlights from the past few years.

2007 Tennessee Valley Corridor Fall Partnership Event

Tennessee Valley Corridor leaders recently partnered with key South Carolina institutions and members of the South Carolina congressional delegation to host an event in Greenville, S.C. focused on how the South can take leadership of the nation’s push for innovative automotive and alternative fuel technologies.

Congressman Zach Wamp joined with Congressmen David Davis of Tennessee’s First District and Bob Goodlatte of Virginia who serves on the House Agriculture Committee, the University of Tennessee School of Agriculture and the Tennessee Farm Bureau to host a biofuels conference for East Tennessee farmers. 46th Annual Congressional Baseball Game

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington and the Washington Literacy Council will receive more than $75,000 from the proceeds of the 46th Annual Congressional Baseball Game at RFK Stadium. Before a crowd of over 4,000 spectators, Republican defended their winning streak, expanding it to seven games.

2007 Tennessee Valley Corridor Summit

The Tennessee Valley Corridor National Technology Summits have focused on many of the problems facing our nation and our region – and this year’s Summit once again focused on solving some of the nation’s most immediate and pressing challenges.

Congressman Wamp accompanied President Bush during his visit to the Scenic City, which was the first trip made by a president since George Herbert Walker Bush visited in the early 1990s.
